When I was recently demonstrating wood carving at a Gresham Historical Society function, a woman asked if I could make her “Small Sewing Needles from Lightning struck wood”. Her source for these special wood needles was stopping production. I told her that I could not, but I would ask the woodworkers forum to see if anyone could help her.
