VOLUNTEERING AT THE GUILD The Guild is an all volunteer organization. Everyone's help is needed to keep things running! There are roles for you if you have skills and experience to share. Even if you are a beginner woodworker there are many ways to get involved. Some roles require lots of time but other roles take minimal time. The most important thing is to GET INVOLVED. You will always be welcomed into the Guild Volunteer Community! |
Immediate Opening - Class Registrar (Education)
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: PROGRAMS AND COMMITTEES Education: There are over 80 current volunteers keeping the educational opportunities up and running but more are always needed. Positions include instructors, class assistants, and leads for various jobs including maintaining the education web pages, education volunteer coordination, publication/marketing, and SIGS. Click here or email the Education program. Communications: Volunteers help with Guild communications, including the newsletter (contact) and the email "blasts" (contact). Project Build: Register and attend free Wednesday sessions and join woodworkers of all skill levels as we build projects to be used at the Guild, sold to benefit the Guild, or given to a good cause. Projects are proposed and led by Project Build members, so there are many ways to help out. Click here or email Project Build. Toy Build: Do you like to make toys or want to improve your woodworking skills, especially with small pieces? Then join us on Friday afternoons from 1 to 5 to build toys. Most of the toys are donated to non-profit organizations for distribution to needy kids. Some are sold to help offset the cost of our materials. No experience is needed. As long as you have taken the Introduction to Guild Safety, you can join our group. Click here or email the Toy Build team. Safety and Shop Operations: There wouldn't be a Guild without the shop and its resources. Help keep things in good working order, including your' fingers! Volunteers are needed for program leads, shop attendants, machine maintenance, hand tool maintenance, supply management, and others. Email the shop team to find out more about shop operations, maintenance, and safety. Estate Sales: Helping with estate sales is a great way to get a first look at tools and equipment coming up for sale. Contact the estate team and check out estate sale processes. |
