General Description
In this class we will be making a small, solid wood cabinet. You will have the chance to learn the basics of cabinet construction and practice several different joinery techniques including sliding dovetails and bridle joints. This is the perfect project for beginners who are looking to better understand the steps of any woodworking project. We’ll talk about reading a drawing, layout and marking, how to organize the steps of a basic project, machine set up, fitting joints, and simple glue ups.
Tools, Equipment or Materials needed: If students have a pocket square, tape measure, 6” rule, speed square, bevel gauge, marking knife, chisels, block plane, jack or smoothing plane, carcass or dovetail saw etc. they could bring those.
Students should also bring their Personal Protective Equipment.
Cherry wood and project supplies will be provided by the Guild.
