Topic:  Hand Tool Essentials

This is an introduction to the use of hand tools for woodworking. We will discuss saws, planes, chisels and their uses.  Other topics include marking and layout, shaping, boring, work-holding and fastening.  An introduction to sharpening tools is included.   Appropriate tools for each practice will be addressed and the tools needed for your basic tool kit.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are implementing additional safety requirements for those using the shop. Before you arrive for your scheduled session, please ensure the following:

• You are in good health and not living with anyone who is ill with COVID-19 or experiencing symptoms of a respiratory infection.  
• You are following the CDC guidelines if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required. Email it to Carol.Boyd@guildoforegonwoodworkers so that she may file on the shop computer
