Business Description
I am currently serving as COO for HappyWife Industries, responsible for facilities and operations. Our mission is to promote domestic tranquility, carry bags out of yarn and quilt shops, and ensure prompt delivery of the appropriately flavored, iced, and caffeinated AM starter fluid. Besides the above, we design and build useful and pretty things for her delight.
My woodworking interests include chairs and rocking chairs, small batch modular bookcases, incorporating marquetry--double bevel technique--into cabinet and furnishing designs, and looking forward to a deeper dive into steam bending and wood turning.
Ongoing/upcoming projects for our home include eleven of the bookcase modules for our "more books than G-d meant to print" home library. A series of bypass Shoji doors for a 20 foot closet wall, several small walnut mounting brackets to enhance some black Japonesque fixtures and hardware, a laundry tower cabinet featuring pull-out baskets and louvered bypass door, and a front entry divider with exchangeable marquetry scenes of Oregon's diverse natural wonders at their different seasons.
Of the more furniture-ey projects I look forward to building something I designed a long time ago, a Krenovian style wall cabinet with swan doors, and faceted glass to showcase Madeline's collection of beloved and beautiful perfume bottles. Finally, after I've got my workshop set up for steam bending, I will have a chance to follow up on the Guild Master Class on steam bending and completing my sinuous quilt display ladder.
